Retreats

A retreat is where the rhythm returns. Attention settles, to the body, to the table, to the hours as they come. Movement begins, and continues, and what forms over the days is a cadence of its own, activity and stillness, each held in its own time, a rhythm the House keeps and one that is carried.

The same rhythm takes a different shape in each place. On a private island in the north, it follows the light and the water, the long days and the turning of the season. At a private estate in the south, it moves with the table and the land around it, the slow warmth of the afternoons. The House holds the same hours wherever it settles, and each place gives them its own character.
